About us

From 2000 to 2023, Wilhelm Modersohn has been steering the fortunes of MODERSOHN and was responsible both as a materials specialist and as a board member of the Informationsstelle Edelstahl Rostfrei, an information center for stainless steel. 

In 2006, Mr. Modersohn was significantly involved in the market launch of the 1st Lean Duplex steel in the field of construction. After numerous tests at the Federal Institute for Materials Research (BAM, Berlin) and the University of Karlsruhe, he succeeded in obtaining a building authority approval Z-30.3-19 for the material 1.4362. Since then, the former company leader has registered several new developments as patents and supported company-relevant research projects.

In 2014, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Jürgen Matzelle SFI/IWE became the company's second managing director. As a construction and welding engineer, he offers concentrated expertise in the field of fastening technology and system products for ventilated curtain walls. In addition to the continuous product development for stainless steel support anchors, Mr. Matzelle supervises and is responsible for the certifications of all building products at MODERSOHN.

Our passion & competence

"Stainless steel is our world!" This motto is implemented by the Modersohn company with full commitment. Thus, Wilhelm Modersohn GmbH & Co. KG also contributes to the development and creation of important standards in the building industry and products made of stainless steel with its own representatives in the association and standards work of various committees.

Research and development take place continuously at our company

Together with the Federal Institute for Materials Research (BAM), Berlin, and other testing institutes, we develop more cost-effective and efficient facade and heavy-duty fastenings for our customers.
